Living with NMO: Expanding Access to Reliable NMOSD Education

min read

Access to reliable, understandable information is essential for people living with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). To help meet this need, NMO Brasil has created conVIVENDO com NMO (LIVING with NMO), a series of live educational webinars broadcast on our YouTube channel.

Each session features a different healthcare specialist discussing topics that matter most to people living with NMOSD.

Our webinars cover subjects such as diagnosis, available treatments, symptom management, mental health, rehabilitation, nutrition, patients’ rights, and strategies for improving quality of life.

The webinars are interactive, allowing participants to engage with experts and ask questions during the live sessions. After each broadcast, the recordings remain freely available on our YouTube channel, creating a growing educational library that can be accessed at any time.

Although the webinars are presented in Portuguese, YouTube’s built-in automatic subtitles and translation features allow viewers from around the world to follow the content in many other languages. This helps make the series accessible to a broader international audience while continuing to serve  the Portuguese-speaking NMOSD community.

Through conVIVENDO com NMO, NMO Brasil is committed to providing trustworthy, evidence-based information and fostering a more informed, connected, and empowered NMOSD community.
